Call for Applications: #womenps Conference, Berlin, Sept 15-18, 2019

PoIis18o, the Centre of Public Initiatives “Ideas for Change” (Kyiv) and the IDP Women Association “Consent” (Tbilisi) are pleased to announce the first policy research-oriented conference in the framework of our #womenps project! The conference will primarily bring together  participants  of our projects conducted in 2016, 2018 and 2019. Hence, applications are only open for our project alumni.

The conference will take place on September 17. It aims at strengthening the #womenps network and supporting the publication of five Polis Briefs that discuss specific perspectives on the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda as well as gender and the conflicts in Ukraine and Georgia. The conference is preceded by meetings with representatives of different organizations and institutions working on the WPS Agenda in Germany (September 16). and we will have the chance to present our work at a public event on September 17, 2019.

How to apply?

Please send us an abstract (approximately 250 words) for a Polis Brief that you will pitch at the conference. In addition to that, we ask you to send us an up-dated biography and photo for the booklet that we will produce. The application deadline is July 19, 2019. Please keep in mind that we would like to discuss specific aspects and innovative ideas regarding various issues of the WPS Agenda linked to Germany, Georgia or Ukraine. Thus, your abstract (and, ultimately the Polis Brief) should be focused and analytic at, and not just give a general overview.

Please send your abstracts to: maximiliane.Iinde@poIis18O.org.

In case of questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with us!

If your abstract is selected, we will ask you to send us a full draft of your Polis  Brief by  September 2, 2019. After the conference we will choose five Briefs we will continue to work with and then publish. It is obligatory that every participant of the conference prepares a draft which can be presented and discussed at the conference. We will organize  two  webinars  for  selected participants in August that will further explain how to write Polis Briefs  and help  you to produce your drafts.
